Greetings Artists Society members,

Something wonderful is about to happen in Hot Springs! We are about to celebrate our Fourth
Annual Silent Art Auction! The party of the year in Hot Springs is presented by the Hot Springs
Artists Society, Inc., on Saturday night, November 15th, from 6 - 9:00 P.M. in the Event Hall at
the Symes Hot Springs Hotel. The silent art auction is the major event for fund raising for our non-
profit arts organization.  The party includes the art auction with wine, cheese, and fine chocolates
served by Hot Springs’ most charming residents and passionate art collectors. Tickets for
sampling food and wine are available for six tickets for $5.00. Musical entertainment will be
provided by John Patrick Williams and Pete Mason.

You'll enjoy meeting the artists while mingling and browsing the fabulous offerings. Our
community is abound with artists of all disciplines and many artistic styles. It is a pleasure to
share the community with so many gifted people.  This is the once a year gathering where artists
come together and share their recent creations of fine art paintings, drawings, sculpture, pottery,
jewelry, novels and other artistic works with members of the public and with the art collectors.
There are many familiar artists who return for the party every year, and each year there are
always some artists who are new to our celebration and who are joining us for the first time.  The
art of the auction is available to buyers in open bidding as buyers mark their bid prices on bid lot
numbered sheets with designated bid closing times in the evening.

This year’s featured artist will be the work displayed by the American impressionist oil painter
Robert A. Ferguson of San Diego, California. Robert Ferguson is known as one of American's
best painters and has won numerous awards as a plein air artist. You can see more of his work
and read more about him at
http://www.fergusonart.com/2.htm.  Mr. Ferguson has generously
donated two of his original oil paintings as part of this art auction. What a wonderful educational
opportunity for the evening’s guests to view the paintings and art images of this well-acclaimed
national artist. Other participating artists include Ma Brown Robbins, Linny Gibson, and Joan
Nevarez and many more. Our auction attendees also appreciate the bidding on available gift
certificates for desired services in the Hot Springs community and beyond. Our town guests and
our locals enjoy the card passes for visits of soaking in the hot mineral water; the gift certificates
for services from the many massage therapists and natural healing therapists in the community;
and the hotel/motel night lodging rooms for guests. All gift certificates are available on auction
night as bid lots.

We hope you will join us for this Gala Event.  Please check out some of our fabulous offerings
for this event on our
Gala Art Auction page. And if you can't make it this year, well, join the fun
and send us an absentee bid! The Auction is free and the Tasting tickets are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for
$5.00.  As our major fund raising event of the year, all income from the auction go to bring arts
education to residents of all ages through the Hot Springs Artists Society, Inc., and the Center for
the Arts who sponsor classes, events, workshops and public performances. The Silent Art
Auction Gala fund raising event is the day of the year when the Hot Springs Artists Society, Inc.,
members put forth their best efforts to raise money to pay for the costs of the Missoula Childrens
Theater annual visits to the Hot Springs Public Schools, the Children’s Summer Arts Camp,
children’s story and art activities at the library, an abundance of public performances of
performing artists of many musical styles and backgrounds and countries, music lessons for
children with private music teachers, visual art classes for adults, and art exhibits for local visual
artists at the On The Wall Art Gallery. Please call 741-2382 for more information, or write to P.O.
Box 549, on this Hot Springs gala event.

Hope to see you there!
